In lieu of shouting

sometime, the peeps have said this journal is ALL about thee shouting. Today i've been introspective. I got that fall-internalize-all-life's-melancholy feeling in San Fran, and fight it as i always do, i have been thinking alot about loss...

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize - we're floating in space -
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize
Do You Realize - that everyone you know
Someday will die -

now, that's a pretty heavy series of words, all jumbled together in row on row pulling meaning out of some squiggles on a page. I've been thinking about significance, loss, meaning, and non-attachment.

what makes a car *your* car? What makes a song make you cry (and there is one, "canon" which still oncfounds me, makes me blubber everytime), What makes a memory linger...

Do you realize that everyone you know someday will die, and every thought you have will vaporize?

pretty much. I'm trying to be zen about it, you know, holding onto the now, keeping my attention externalized, enjoying the little things about reality..

it's the death part we all can't escape.

whether we really reincarnate is up for debate.

Yes. But do you realize that the question focuses the reader upon the future, not upon the now?

hmm, never really thought about that

the question asks the listener/reader if they have a realization that something in the future is GOING to happen, even though it hasn't happened yet.

it emphasizes the inevitable, yes, but then it goes on to say...

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

that's a NOW thing
